Questions about Puppy food brands

Postby waterdoc » Tue Aug 16, 2011 5:58 pm

I am trying to figure out what type of food to feed to my pup. I have looked into pro plan, does anyone have any other selection or reinforce my decision on pro plan.

Not sure what pro plan is costing now, but I have fed euk, and pro plan, now I use Diamond Naturals large breed puppy lamb and rice. It saves you a few dollars a bag, it is around 30$ for a 40lb bag, and I believe it is just as good as the more expensive foods.

I have always used ProPlan large breed puppy. I might be a little more expensive but I have had great results from it. I have never tried anything else in the last 15 yrs.

I am plan on getting a pup in the next 4-6 months. I've doing a lot of checking on dog food, from ingredients, quality, availability, others opinions, and price. Right now I am checking out Diamond Puppy. It has 31%protein and 20%fat. Just a suggestions and I would love to hear some thoughts on this food....

I started my pup out on the regular Diamond puppy but it didnt sit real well with him I think it was because it was so high in protein and fat. I recently switched to Diamond Naturals large breed puppy lamb and rice and am very pleased and it's not as expensive as some of the other foods. It has no corn or anything like in it.

My pup has eaten over 20 possums this week. He looks great! I bring all my dogs up on it along with brown rice and vege's. My 13yr old bitch can still run for miles and kill a possum with her blunt teeth.
