Need help with zip line idea

Have a pretty good size creek that runs through my property and need to create an easy way to get across. Cannot access from the other side. My land is landlocked and no interior road system with no way to get anything other than a four wheeler back to this creek. So that eliminates any type of telephone pole-bridge-rigging ideas. The bank are washed out to angle where they are just slick muck so a ladder wont do any good. I am leaning towards putting a zip line system in. Does anyone have any experience doing this? Any leads on where to buy the kits? Also since I would be crossing with a climber and gun we were thinking about welding some type of a chair/basket to sit in and just pull yourself across. I may be out in left field on this but I need some help quick!!!

Several kits online, fairly reasonable too.

I would not recommend zipping across with all your gear. Just make two guides and send your stuff across first

How you plan on getting a deer back across?

Would require two zip lines - they work down hill only. How about an leaving an old john boat out there with a tied rope to pull across the creek quietly?

I agree with gunslinger. Or a canoe, any type of watercraft.

Sorry I meant to mention that the creek floods outside the banks after a hard rain and takes whatever in its path. Our neighbors said they go through 1 john boat a year. Plus it would be about impossible for one man to put in a boat with all his gear with these slick banks. I have crossed on big fallen oak trees the past 2yrs but in january with a climber, gun, iphone, gps, binocs, camera, etc. I dont like risking it on an icy tree. 40ft walk at that!

that's what I meant. surely, you're not at a 30 degree angle. Tie a rope to the first one, put your gear on it, and guide it over. seems alot saferto me; but then again, you are contemplating a zip line for deer hunting, so who knows....

Sounds to me like ya need to hire a dozer and put in a rd...how deep it the creek and does it have water in it yr round ...how deep is water...maybe better to take dozer in and cut down a rd in bank to make a low water crossing

There was a thread last year about this very thing. some dude had pics of his zipline, he could send a 4 wheeler across with it. It was impressive. Must have been over at the bullnoodle. Search it. I like the dozer idea thou.

just an idea... that's cost efficient. if your frequenting the area then leave it in the woods... gonna be gone for a while bring it to the house.

We have a problem with this on my property. We found a burnt single wide trailer and just pulled the frame across. Makes for good walking and deer dragging and we have driven 4 wheelers across it. Doubt that would work for your situation.
