What do you guys use to keep flies away from your dogs? They are bad in my neck of the woods.

Ive always used the spray from the co-op for horses. Its about 10.00 a bottle but worth every penny. Last for a week or so
Then if I dont have that I use apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle. Helps with their coats also. It last about 2-3 days before it wears off.
I always coat it on really good on the ears

Ive got 2 boxers and a australian sheapard and have to chase them down when they see the bottle! Doesnt burn or anything to them.

I bought some fly equine spray at the local co-op. Says it may be used for dogs on the label. Seems to work well.

Once, again....insecticide cattle ear tags....kills fleas, flies, ticks, mosquitos, etc.

No, not hardly....cut it in half, punch a hole thru it, and attach to dog's collar....in four months, replace it with the other remaining half.

Cattle ear tag in dogs collar. Problem solved.

You could put a penny in a ziploc bag full of water and staple it to his collar!

I imagine that a suppository of DDT up his butt would work, too.

Concerning the ear tags, I've got a question. Do you use them with Frontline, or can you do away with Frontline? Does the size of the dog matter? Would you put a half a tag on a 70 lb dog and the other half on a 20 lb dog?

Yep, that's what I do with my dogs....half a tag per dog....size isn't that important, unless you're talking about a two pound poodle, I suppose....and, you can quit the Frontline, and save some bling-bling.

+1 on the cow tags...problem is tryin to buy just a couple anymore instead of whole box...Later DL
