Anyone else read about these yet? Going in stores in 85 days. Big article in the wildfowl magazine this month on them. From what I can tell they are down in LA mostly. Wonder what they will run a box or even be worth it.

Saw that article in Wildfowl. I don't see a need for it. But like the article said, it would be useful for calling out the guy that claims every duck that falls.

I'll buy a box of these just for when I hunt with a certain individual. As I was reading the article in Wildfowl his face kept popping out of the page as if it were a hidden image. This dude can hunt by himself, shoot 2 boxes of shells and never kill a bird. But whenever he hunts with someone else it's always the same from his end of the blind "I got em', I got that one!". Normally this doesn't bother me at all but for some reason this man drives me nuts. Hopefully these things will work.

I think everyone has one of those guys. We call them "Si's" after old Si on the duck commander. All they know is they're pulling the trigger and ducks are hitting the water.

Unless it's real slow it's usually not a problem. Just let them have the first 6 ducks they claim, make them unload their gun, and then sit there and watch and squirm while you get to continue hunting. After a time or two of that they're not as quick to claim birds.

Now that's a good idea!! I'll be sure to remember that one.

I used to hunt with a guy like that back in the 60's when the limit was one (1) Mallard, he would claim even if he didn't shoot! We broke him of that one day when were came out to a parking area on public land. As we loaded up, the familiar green truck pulled up and two GW's stepped out and flashed the brass, asked for our licenses, ect. You all know the drill. Completely un-rehearsed and without hesitation when asked which ducks were mine, I said I didn't kill any and none were mine. The other two guys took the hint and fell right in and said the same thing. Well, things got pretty dicey as our soon to be ex-friend was led to their truck and told to sit. You can imagine the protesting and begging that ensued from him and it wasn't until they started writting the ticket and tagging the birds as evidence that we let him off the hook. The Head Mountie then threatened us with obstruction of justice charges but couldn't keep a straight face as were were all in hysterics over the beat-down just handed to this guy. Can't remember if he ever claimed everything again as for some reason he wouldn't hunt with us any more!

Reading on the website and looked at the contact info - lists them as about 10 blocks from where I am right now in Lafayette, LA. But googlemaps shows the address as Coastal Risk Services. Might have to go talk with them this week.

I'd like to try 'em out.
1)I'd like to see if I'm as good or bad of a shot as I think I am.
2)I'd like to see how deep my pellets went and where they were located. By the time you divide up birds and such I have no idea who's is who's
I think they could be pretty neat for self informative purposes. Currently I don't have any "I shot em all friends"

I'll definitely have to try these out. They will come in handy when hunting with Raggio....
