Loyal Dog Food?

Postby Trappey » Wed Mar 02, 2011 8:35 am

I have been feeding Enhance Professional Athlete and like everyone else, have been having trouble keeping a steady supplier. The place I used to buy from quit carrying it and now has Loyal brand. does anybody know anything about this food or vs Professional Athlete?

We used it for well over a year when we switched off of Purina for various reasons.
Then our feed dealer quit carrying Loyall and I switched to Enhance.
Then Enhanced bombed so we switched to Diamond Naturals.
Went last Sat to pick up 8 bags but the dealer only had 2.
Can't seem to get the feed folks to settle down so we are getting used to the idea of switching over every 6 months.

I liked Loyall as well as any of the other feeds I have used. (except Enhance) Most of the dogs did well on it. The "waste" in the kennels is "messier" . I would still be on Enhance if they had not crapped out.

We feed it and have had very good luck with it. I can get it from Todd's Feed & Hardware in Independance, MS.

We get the 26-15 and during duck season fed the 30-20 version.

I have just been feeding the professional athlete year round but since i cant find it anymore it looked like the Loyal had about the same protein/fat percentage. Should i not be feeding year round?

I talked to the "nutrition" guys at both PMI and Eukanuba, and both said feed a dog in training 30/20 year round, just cut back as necessary to keep from weight gain. There is an article it someplace that I am too sleepy to find right now.
