Big BB Win by Rebels last night over UK

Postby Po Monkey Lounger » Wed Feb 02, 2011 11:48 am

I've been on AK's booty pretty hard lately, and still have my doubts about him continuing as the Rebel head coach, but I must give some kudos where they are due. That was a nice performance by a battered Rebel team last night in Oxford. AK had them ready and appeared to make better coaching decisions. And let me just say thank God for goat boy.

While this one good win won't mean a thing if the Rebels don't improve and string some more wins together, it does represent a little hope for a Rebel resurgence during the second half of this SEC season --- there is some fight left in these Rebels. And AK has to be feeling the heat --- so, maybe he and his staff will be motivated to perform at their very best.

What sayeth fellow Rebels? Is this the start of a march toward the NCAA tournament, or a one game fluke on the road to another middle of the road season ending with an NIT bid? While hoping for the first, I strongly suspect the latter. Hope I am wrong.

When chris went up for that shot, i said NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I thought it was a horrible shot, but yet again, he consistently proves himself of being very capable of beating the odds. Hell of a game!

Didn't think we had a prayer of winning that game. I thought for sure we were done in the second half when we lost that 11 pt lead and Kentucky went up by one. I just don't understand the drastic difference in energy and effort that we play with from one game to another. If we could play consistent basketball like we did last night we can make a run this year. That's a HUGE "If" though.

watching this team this year one thing has stuck out to me... They could'nt finish down the stretch. maybe a little confidence in this situation will help. All I know is there was no doubt who was going to take that last shot. Warren is going to need some more help to make winning in the SEC consistant

I kinda knew Warren's shot was good before the ball left his hands. The Amish Assassin has ice water in his veins. I love to see Calipari lose.

I told my wife that Warren was going to win the game during that last timeout. There was no doubt in my mind.
