First band and first Can

The past two hunts for me have been pretty memorable. The first of which I killed my first band and the second hunt my group (literally 3 of us shot simultaneously and naturally each of us claimed the bird) shot a Canvasback drake. The band was on a Mallard drake which was tagged in Maryland, and I'm the one who ended up with the Can so I'm thinking about getting it stuffed. What do yall think?
Anyways I just felt like sharing some great memories on otherwise mediocre hunts.
Thinking about this as a potential pose for the mount. It may be a little too elaborat though

congrats!! Call the band in and they will let you know where it was banded>

not where it was banded. Laurel, Maryland is where they manufacture the bands. You have to call it in to get the info.

go for it!!!!! get that duck mounted, every time you look at it, you will remember that day, a word of warning, once you get one mount you will be wanting more.

Maryland haha well I did think it was strange for the bird to make one helluva switch in flyways, but I did call it in so I guess we'll see when the certificate arrives

They seem to band alot of them in Laurel,MD!

Don't know that they "manufacture" there, but Laurel, MD is where the Bird Banding Lab is. Just say'n.

When I read the title, I assumed you killed a banded Can and was super excited for you. Now I'm only partially excited for you.

congrats on both. You are not the first to make the band mistake. You are just the first to post it on in here in a while. All kidding in good fun. Congrats again!
