Browning A-5 Barrel

I was recently given a Browning A-5 Belgium 12 gauge magnum shotgun. It's a 1975 model in very good condition. I'd like to take it duck hunting. (I currently shoot a Berretta XTrema II, this gun would not take it's place, just a supplement gun.) I know that I do not need to shoot steel shot in the Belgium barrel and would like to get an Invector barrel to put on it to hunt ducks with. Does anyone know where I can get a barrel? Would anyone have a used Invector barrel for sale? The Belgium barrel is a 28".

Wow, I didn't know they were that much. I haven't done an extensive search online, but can you buy one from Browning?

gps4, I'd be interested in buying or a possible trade. Check your pm.

In '03 I had Big Bucks/H'burg send my Pops 30" Belg barrel to Colonial Arms, I think it's in Albania  , to have it throated and steel shot chokes put in, $77.50. I got the Imp Cyl and Mod steels for $25 apiece. The whole deal was $143.90. Maybe you can deal direct wit dem or somebody like dat since BB has died... It patterns purdy good wit the mod... Later DL

I was looking for a barrel for the same gun and the cheapest one on brownings
website was 402 bucks and don't think about trying to call a gunsmith around
here to see if they can put threads in the barrel you have now so you can just change chokes
cheapest estimate I got was you like 700 and no one would
garuntee it

My Dad just had one of his A-5 barrels cut down a couple inches and threaded for chokes. I believe the work plus a couple of choke tubes ran him under $150.

My buddy is an A5 fanatic and I just asked him and he said as long as it is not a damascus barrel, which have not been produced since the 1930's. So you should be good to go.
