...flooded timber all the way. I've done pits in fields...but, no comparison for me.
But, then again, it's just a preference--like blondes or brunettes.

The marsh is a beautiful place. However, the north wind and the tides can really give you a hard time. There are not too many places where you can shoot ducks and catch red fish on the same morning. If I come North, I like the green trees.
Shoot them sprigs on their first pass!

Anywhere the boat can get will do just fine. Swamp, marsh, mudflat, lakeshore or river.

Anywhere the ducks are suits me just fine. But I will give preference to the timber although I get to hunt it a lot less than the open river bottom reservoirs.

I like a variety of places. I would have to go with LAduck that my true love is the brackish water marshes as long as I don't drop my gun in the water! @#$@!!! I also love fields and brakes heck anyhere I can hunt ducks or geese is a great time for me.

I prefer the green timber, but I only get to hunt in it a couple of times a year. Most of my huning is done on small lakes and rice fields.

I spend a lot of time hunting the brackish water and beaver ponds down on the coast, but my favorite place is a flooded brake with a hole in it about the size of my living room, surrounded by oak trees.

In my opinion there is nothing that even comes close to a good green timber hunt but hey if they wanna be in the fields on a certain day that had better be where u wanna be or your duck hunt will turn into a squirll hunt

Where ever my dog and I are watching the sun come up.

Most of my hunting has been on flooded beaver backwater areas off of rivers. Most of my hunting nowadays is in backwater areas from small coves/creeks to 100 acre backwater areas off the Tombigbee river. Lots of dead and green timber in some of those areas. Depth of these holes range from 2 ft to 20 feet so I have to have a lot of anchor line on my dekes.
