Thanks. Our duck biologist called me today wondering where some might be and that area is where I told him to look first. I got a report of some over Oxford last week.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I heard some sandhills fly over our place in Friars Point opening weekend. It was some kind of bird I'd never seen and listening to the call they make on Wiki, I'm almost certain that's what it was.

It was an odd sound. I thought it might be some kind of swan at first, but after looking it up, it was definitely a crane.

Years ago (when Sprig was a puppy) - a black swan ended-up in the area we hunted that year........later determined it probably was an 'escapee' from a local waterfowl farm/zoo about 30 miles up the river. They definately speak a different language. I've got some video footage of it........and Sprig swimming over to investigate the strange bird/noise........and worry it to eventual flight.

Not MS but we have several hundred on the Crow Creek refuge over here in AL. Far more cranes than Canadas on the refuge. Kind of like listening to them. We're getting more every year over here. Also saw three swans flying around over here yesterday.
