crappy wardens

I'm posting about my first wildlife ticket and why game wardens have such a bad reputation. Two friends and myself went hunting in malmason. We killed 5 wood ducks "tore them up lol" we put them in my truck with all of our gear and went and scouted another hole. Came back and there was a warden truck with two wardens in it at the boat ramp. I pulled up beside them to talk before going to the truck while talking to one the other asked who had the green truck bc I had a ticket. I asked what for, bc the ducks were not tagged wtf. He said they were in my posession bc they were in my truck but so was the other guy who had not been out of my site since I picked him up at 4am. They other game warden went over there two times to talk to him then told us to go talk to him. Where he was a peepee once again. I talked to four game wardens that day all were polite and professional except that little s#!t. I don't think the state pays him to be an Ass. And that's my two cents.

read the law, you should have tagged the birds.

All the others didn't think so bc we were still together technically we were still hunting do you tag your ducks as soon as you kill them

Don't quote me but doesn't the law say separate and identifiable? If you had them in one pile in your boat .............the situation is the same.

was actually wondering about the possession thing this weekend. Hypothetically, lets say there was a high end club in LA that kills 5K+ birds a year. Most of the sports don't take any birds with them. So, hypothetically, the duck shed out back has 4,500 birds in it at the end of the year. Seperate and tagged, but only 3 or 4 guys on the premises. would they lock these guys up for life if they raided the place or do the tags make them all legal.

So one guy wants to let you go and the other is giving no slack? Kind of a shaky sitiation. Maybe you could get one to testify in your behalf against the other.

Technically the warden is right, even in the blind a nit picker would write a ticket for them all being in a pile. You are suppose to seperate them into individual limits. I said technically, personally I think he may be going a bit overboard, but my opinion is not going to do you a bit of good.

actually the ducks were seperated three were on my side that i claimed and two were on my friends that he claimed. And we are talking about 5 wood ducks not 30 green heads and 8 people in 1 boat. bottom line the guy was just a 25 year old on a little man power trip, just cause you have a badge and a gun doesnt give you the right to be a dick!!!! And all he was doing was sitting in a truck actually get your @$$ out and try to catch the real ones breaking the law. Not the guys who are paying your salary by buying that WMA permit. "Dont bite the hand that feesds you"

Go to court !

You have a good chance of beating that one!

There was NO "intent" to violate the Law.
Yes, you were technically breaking the "tag" rule.... but judges are very reasonable people also.

Just be Honest and "humble"... tell the story without saying anything derogatory about the young Warden.

That is why we have courts... and most Judges are actually nice guys.

God Bless you
