Good Opener!

Me, Teul2, Chadl03, and Marshrat went to my place this morning and had a pretty good opening day hunt. I scouted three places yesterday afternoon and while all of them had birds, my big brake had the largest concentration so we agreed to meet there at 5. We got set up and at shooting time I folded a gadwall in the decoys to start the morning off then it was on. We passed on the 300-400 divers that buzzed our decoys all morning and ended up with 21 gadwall, 2 teal and a wood duck by 6:53. Teul2 shot one of the teal and it just so happened to be banded. This was the 2nd opening morning shoot i've been on this season a band was killed (opening day of teal season one of the kids shot a banded blue wing). Off to a good start! Also gave one nutria a frontal lobotomy when he decided to swim towards the boat. Here are a few pictures

What I saw when I was scouting yesterday evening..

Good shooting fellas. Our opener wasn't quite as nice but we scratched 5 between a couple if us. Low water conditions are hurting me right now.

Glad to be back in the blind. No complaints. The difference in a 1st year dog and a 2nd year dog is night and day. Bella did well so all is good.

12 Mallards
6 Gadwalls

Had to work for the mallards, could have killed 100 limits of gadwalls, it was insane how many gadwalls are in the area.
