Ceramic grills

Postby Bull Duck » Wed Nov 17, 2010 8:27 am

I'm looking into buying a ceramic grill in the near future but i wanted to hear some opinions from people who have them. I have looked online at both the Bayou Classic Cypress model and the Green Egg. I was hoping some of y'all could help me out on the difference between the two, other than the price. It looks like the Cypress comes with a stand and shelves, but all the Green egg components have to be bought separately. Any wisdom is appreciated.

its really a no brainer... buy the cypress grill and be done with it. It works just as good if not better than the egg and its cheaper. plus our very own dickaholic is the GM for for them.  call me johnny

Get a Cypress Grill from Duckaholic. You can come by my house or Marchant's house and check them out. When Lott lived next door to Marchant he had the egg and even he admitted the Cypress grill seemed to be built much sturdier. It's definitely not worth the extra money. You can always buy the accessories for the egg if you see something you like and use it on the Cypress grill......I think Andy Lee has the egg's ceramic plate on his Cypress grill.

Marchant is about to go pick up another one for someone....let him know and he'll pick up two I'm sure.
