aluminum welder in Oxford?

Ya'll know a decent welder in the Oxford area for my aluminum boat?...got cracks in the transom that need welded pretty bad. thanks....

I took mine to Steve Fielder @ Fielder Welding. He's off of HWY 6 (you can see his shop across the HWY from Wal-Mart). My experience was great. Good price and really nice guy.

Might try to take it out to the Vo-Tech school on 7.

The instructors will weld on it, as an in class demonstration for the students. They did some work on a buddy of mines boat when we were at school and did a good job. He made a donation to the program in return (small, mind you nothing like a welding shop would have charged). May give them a call and see if they are interested in doing that.

Fielders is good too though.

Thanks guys...I mentioned the vo-tech thing to my son and he thought I was crazy saying they'll burn a hole slap thru it...never thought about the instructor doing it. Sounds good to me....after all it IS a beat up ole duck boat!

Rob mooney 816-2141. One of the best. And reasonably prices his work.

Mr. James is the Ag mechanics instructor at the B&I (Votec). I would trust him with anything like this, but make sure you don't let any of his pupils give it a shot or you will be looking for a new boat.
