Wader Question

Postby timbertalk » Thu Nov 04, 2010 2:19 pm

Has anyone ever had or know anything about these waders with the waterproof zipper in the front. Are they really waterproof ,can you depend on them? Just wandering if they were worth trying out.

Had some, and the zipper leaked. Was easy to piss though. My $.02. And on a side note, if anyone wants to back me in a business plan where we insert some sort of "piss tube" into waders with a plug in it, let me know. You could remove the plug, piss out of a funnel type tube, and then replace the plug. Serious inquiries only . . .

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.

I've got two seasons on a pair of hodgeman breathables with a zipper. Bought when they were on closeout from the Coleman website. They are the most comfortable waders I've ever owned. No leaks and no problems with the zipper. Only thing I miss is the chest pocket. If I have to stand in deep water and it's going to stay below freezing then I'll break out the neoprenes, otherwise a pair of fleece pants under the breathables is plenty warm.

My dad has a pair of neoprene Cabelas waders with the zipper. His are 4-5 seasons old with no issues.
