I have been bow hunting for 22 yrs and I know an old deer when I see one.

this weekend I had three bucks come by 2 small 8pts (2 yr olds) and one deer with what looked like 2 big salad spoons on his head.(basicly a spike)
the spoon headed deer had a big pot belly and was a least 60 lbs bigger than the 2 8 pts.

My question is: would there be any forgivness for getting this deer out of my herd?

I don't want this deer breeding anything.

Cull him.

I'd give you the green light. Maybe you could turn the antlers into, as you say salaad spoons, for your camp.

If I'm not misreading the regs, there isn't a point restriction anymore. Zones 1 and 2 have a minimum inside spread of 10 inches OR a minimum main beam length of 13 inches on one side. Zone 3 has a minimum inside spread of 12 inches OR a minimum main beam length of 15 inches on one side. Sounds to me like if he meets either of those requirements he's legal. I see plenty of spikes in my neck of the woods that would fall into those categories.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
