I'm supposed to set up an appt w/ Dr Geissler at UMC for surgery to my wrist and hand due to motorcycle accident. Has anyone dealt much w/ him? Is he the best? From the looks of it he is pretty good(team dr for m-braves and um rebels) but just wanted to get some personal views. Who better to turn to than the ducksouth nation

You cant get a better doc. I am not familiar with his wrist work, but he is the best shoulder doc in the state. If he says he can do, he can.

Feel lucky if you get an appointment within the next 3 weeks. When I had my accident earlier this summer I was suppose to get an appointment with Dr. Geissler, when I called I got a reggin with an attitude that told me Dr. Craft (I believe) would be able to see me in 1.5 week. I told her I had been refereed to Geissler and the conversation only got worse from there. I asked on here about Dr. Hobgood at MS sports med. My wife had already called. I got an appt. the next day and went into surgery the next. All is well and I am back swimming again, all in all I was very pleased with Hobgood and his staff.

For the record, Jason Craft is an amazingly intelligent doctor and on a par with vitually anyone in the state

Deltamud that's what I was told also, even by Dr Hobgood but at the time I was training for an Ironman and time was sensitive. I needed to know what could be done or not right then. I was 7 weeks out from a race and really didn't have 1.5 to wait to see how bad my injury was. I knew I was hurt but figured it as a grade 3 AC separation, I was floored to find out it was a grade 5 and no way around surgery.

My post isn't meant to degrade the Dr.'s cause I have heard nothing but excellent things about them. But if I were them I would find a friendlier receptionist ASAP.

You need to let them know about their receptionist. You'd be amazed at how you never know had bad your receptionist is doing until someone tells you........usually several months down the road.

Good deal. Hope surgery goes well. I couldn't take the pain pills. I had to call gator up and ask about my side affects. Seriously the pain pills hurt me worse than the pain so I just delt with it.
