neighbor/hunter trouble help

ok this is sort of a rant/discussion. i have this neighbor that is as good as it gets. unfortunately he has given a fellow down the road to hunt his land which is a 40 acre block in our community which is not in any city limits. I don't have a problem with anyone hunting, but last year i was woke up on several occasions with i high powered rifle blast almost in my backyard. I voiced my opinion of the guy hunting in the community with all the houses within shooting distance.

After the season was over last year my neighbor allowed and granted me permission to go on his land. as i was over there i seen the guys tree stand and his bait site. that sort of got under my skin about the baiting, but his stand wasn't but 100yds behind my property line.

My wife and his wife was notified of the baiting and both threw a BF to my neighbor, he told both of them that the guy was given permission again this year and also said i could hunt since my wife didn't want the other guy back there. I told all of them that i pay good money each year to a very good club so i don't need to hunt the deer i our community. either way i thought i might as well check the place out.

the guy has already put out more taters than a deer could ever eat, but what has highly pissed me off is the guy put a lock on up on my property line. i climbed up in it this afternoon and could see the back of my house and two other houses in the neighborhood. the taters are on my line with his stand. since i saw this i wanted to go give my neighbor a cussing but I thought i would ask yalls advice first.

what wold y'all do in this situation?

oh yeah Ive been informed my county only has one warden now, so its going to be hard for me to get the help i really need to police the issue.

Put a mufflerless surface drive mud motor up on your property line with wireless remote iginition. That should cure the problem.

#4. October and November, only feed you can put out for deer is protein pellets.

Sounds like you have 4 good reasons to call your one and only game warden. A timely phone call about 1 minute after this "pro hunter" enters the property should do the trick. Believe me, timely phone calls work wonders.

I have thought about it fully. he dosent archery hunt but i know for a fact november 9th he will be using his rifle for the remainder of the year. what are the guideline a warden has to follow on this subject? I mean would he have to have permission from the land owner and not a neighbor to access the property of the bait site?

i will fully allow him to use my land, but the land the bait site is on isnt my land.

Do you know this guys mental makeup? Would he retaliate if he got wind you turned him in? There are some crazy mofos walking around. Just saying. I've had dogs poisoned over something similar to this though I can't prove he did it.

I would do as Wingman said and lay low till he hunts it and make the call. Maybe even show the local CO the area ahead of time. I would let him keep baiting and keep records of what you see and witness.

From my understanding the Game Warden doesnt need permission to enter someones property, all he needs is probable cause to check it out.

Whats the guy said when you approach him about the safety issue. I mean in a 40 he could atleast hunt off of the property lines. If the landowner or hunter can't respect the neighbors its quite a pickle. Along the lines of the Don if someone deosn't have the respect on the front end, they usually don't in their revenge.

First step I would confront the neighbor and the other guy bout your concerns before opening a can of worms that ya may or may not be able to close......It would be best if ya could get them both together and ya talk to each other at the same time face to face......sure thie could be worked out and if not then take the next step to clear the problem.......I agree that being a good neighbor is best but the safety of my family is above all

40 acres next to houses and this guy is rifle hunting? putting you and your family in danger. You my friend have every right to be pissed off. Do kids not play in the woods he is hunting in behind your house? Thats just an all around dangerous situation. Good luck, I would follow wingmans advice and bust this guy with a game warden and not tell anyone else about the situation. As someone stated earlier, there are some crazy people in this world and you just never know. Good luck
