I'm looking to build a new boat blind just looking for some different ideas. Want to build something thats easier to set up and than what i got any input will be appreciated.

I am about to build mine on my boat. I am using 3/4 emt and bimini connectors. I will get your pics as I build it if you want.

I agree with curcio, conduit is the way to go. I have seen blinds built from pvc and although they will work, they seem to sag more once the blind material gets wet. I build mine from 3/4 emt and it's a very simple design. I'll post some pics later today.

build a rectangular frame that fits inside of your boat using electrical conduit and connectors. then build your 2 pop up sections they should look like this l____l build these 2 sections the exact same length of your frame and connect the ends of the pop up sections to the front and back part of the frame by drilling holes through the frame and ends of these sections. connect them with any kind of bolt. once connected sit in boat and pull up both sides (of the pop up sections) to your desired height and and where the 2 sections criss cross(X) at the front and back drill holes and run a slide pin through them and you have a pop up blind that one man can pop up. blind material is your preference. I used avery fast grass and zip tied it to some black wind screen then zip tied it to the pop up sections. when letting the blind down i just push the grass inside of the boat and let it down so it doesnt blow everywhere. if this soesnt help ill take some pics of mine and show you exactly how it looks. its pretty simple once you look at it. Also if you use conduit connectors take the little screws out of the connectors and when you get the connector where you want it on the conduit drill a little pilot hole through the conduit and replace with sheet metal screws because the screws in the connectors will vibrate loose and the sheet metal screws will ensure they stay there for good!

thanks for the input and pic. thats kinda what i have but lil easier to set up. mine is built out of square tubing and it is heavy and the welds are always breaking.

I just built the blind that quackheadbp is talking about and posted plans of but I must say I like this design a hole helluva lot better!

Why spend that much money on the boat and outfit it with such a half-booty blind?

What half booty about it?

The blind may work, but it is no where near as nice as say a Beavertail, Avery, or Bert Fleming blind. I see in your signature that you have a Phowler boat and a sd mudmotor that you probably have quite a bit of money invested in. Why not spend a little bit more and get a nice blind on it?

are those straps holding it up or does it hold it self up? does the whole thing collapse or do just the top flaps collapse. it looks alot like what i have on mine now but alot lighter material. What kinda blind is that or did u build it.

Reason being most of thos blinds are for normal boats. IE express,war eagle and such. My boat is not a normal boat. Avery is junk anyway had it on an alumacraft. Never heard of bert fleming blind but may look into it. Beavertail is nice but expensive. I already have enough money in my boat.
