The Bet

Just to make sure everything is clear and to summarize the other thread, I will lay it out right here.

Ole Miss will not win more than 7 regular season games. The total is 7.5. I have the under. NUTMEGAN has the over.

The loser won't post here ever again.

In order for me to get NUTMEGAN to man up and quit being such a coward, i had to provide some incentive for him to agree. After today, I will not post again until that bet is determined. If I were to lose (not possible) then this will be the last you hear from me. He of course can continue posting pipe dreams of Ole Miss being an elite program that others strive to be like, as well as any other ludicrous comments that he feels necessary. Until he loses later this fall, then he is out forever.

I am so confident that Ole Miss will wallow around in mediocrity, that I am willing to no longer grace this board with my presence. It sounds like a win-win for some folk and a double-edge sword for others.

I will go ahead and make my Alabama prediction for the season. Alabama will lose 2 regular season games this year. And one post-season game (taking the SECCG and/or bowl game into factor).

Questons or comments?

I had not paid too much attention to the Reb's schedule this year, but it seems (at least on paper) as one of the lightest in the conference.

Ought to be able to make it to October 3rd without a blemish...unless Vandy or Kentucky wages a serious battle (doubt it). Not sure about the fabulous team from Fresno, but they are Fresno St....so, that takes them possibly to 5-0. (Enter Masoli for Heisman sticker campaign about now).

From there, the next four should allow at least one win against the mighty Swamp Men from Louisiana-Lafayette.

That brings us to 6-3(???).

From there, it's off to Knoxvegas to battle, what should be one of the worst UT teams in recent memory. 7-3.

Now to LSU - The Tigah's will provide a thrashing in Baton Roooouuuge. Now 7-4.

On to the Egg Bowl...for 8? Or, is it 7?

Looking at their inter-conference teams scheduled from the SEC East, it could not fare any better than Vandy, KY and UT on that list.

So, I say 7 for sure - and, 5th in the SEC West. Post-season opportunity to take place in Nashville for one more opportunity.

Get me outa' here Percy!

IF they go 0-5 are you automatically back and he's immediately gone?

just curious if this bet is a 'moral' victory? Or is there a real trophy?

Good questions.

This thing will likely be over in mid-October.

and

I've already claimed a moral victory by making him cave in and take the bet. I had him flustered from the start.

Leonard's loser....in a close one....Nutmeg.

A few observations:

Ole Miss defensive front was awful. Brandon Bolden needs to keep his mouth shut following his runs. Masoli struggles to throw a spiral.

Now the good news...at least it wasn't Memphis...
