Anybody ever used any? How does it pattern? Cabela's has it on sale for 90 a case thought about ordering some.

I was looking at the same stuff myself!

I've used the upland (dove loads 7 1/2) before and they are good shells. Kinda dirty but good none the less. And the brass is really high, no joke the highest brass I've ever seen so they might be good for reloading too. I don't know. Waiting on some input before I buy any.

Found some cheap last year...3"#4's crushes teal...no misfires I can remember

Don't really want to buy a whole case and it not shoot worth a flip. I don't know if I'm going to get on a snow goose shoot this year but that could always be shells for a fall back...

I've shot it a lot. It is real dirty. Other than that when I pull the trigger stuff falls, but that always happens. Most important thing with any shell is to look at the dram and oz of shot. If they put enough steel in and push it with enough powder, its gonna go somewhere.

The only issue I have with Rio's is the smell of the powder. Other than that, they shoot fine. My Beretta patterns #9's best for dove and #5 steel for ducks.

I'm gonna cal BS on this - you too cheap to buy a box in other shot sizes for testing purposes - and too stubborn to change if a different shot size actually patterned better than what you been shootin' - plus you like the novelty of usin' a "illegitimate child" size shot (like 5's or 7's) 'cuse it makes a fella feel 'special'............ You shoot 9's cause you're using 1-1/4oz high brass and you need a denser pattern at 75 yds..........and 5's cause 6's don't have as much downrange velocity and energy (and you need a denser pattern at 75 yds that you wouldn't get with 4's.

3 dram 1 1/8oz #9 for Dove and 2 3/4" #5 steel wreak havoc on teal and woodies in timber.

I love you like a brother but that is one of the gayest things I've read in a while.

I shot some sporting clays with the Rio #8's and busted there ass.

That Rio powder is worse than pyrodex.

I shot some last year and i noticed that some of the hulls had the top blown off them. I dont know if they werent opening right or what. I also shot them in two other guns and had the same thing happen. It would blow about 1/2 inch off the ends around where it was crimped. The whole end wouldnt be missing just a little on one side. I didnt notice that it affected the way they shot. I guess I could blame the shells for everytime i missed.

I know four of us in the club last year shot it with no problems and will be buying more this year.
