I really need a converter type thing that hooks to a regular car battery on one end and has a plug to stick a cigarette lighter type charger in the other end. Does anybody make something like this? And where could I get one if they do? My boat doesn't have a cigarette lighter hole and I need something to plug my spotlight into for fishing and driving the boat at night and all. Thanks

What section in wal mart? I looked all around and even asked a couple of the morons that work there. They said they didn't carry them. Are they in electronics or by the car batteries?

In our Wal Mart they are by the "Off Road Lights" and fuses in the auto section..Tell them you need alligator clamps with a 12v receptacle on it, they might now what it is. Autozone/Advanced Auto/O'reilys usually has them too and the folks there would be more apt to know what your looking for.

Our off road lights are about 10 feet from our boat supplies, and it all is right by the fishing stuff, so I can't remember what section they are in.

This is usually where you will find them. Generally around where the power inverters are. If you go to a parts store, tell them you want a battery clip 12v adapter or female cigarette to battery clip adapter.
If you want to order online:

If you really can't find one, then just buy you a pair of battery clips and a cigarette lighter and make your own. The wire in the center is the + and the outside of the lighter is the -.

does your boat have a trolling motor hard wired to the front of the boat? If so, buy the correct trolling motor male end and wire to your spotlight and run some extra wire. Works great and those alligator clamp, 12v things are really finicky.

I use the same thing for running my Trimble gps and toughbook in my boat for plant surveys. I installed a cigarette outlet to the boat and wired it to the battery. You can buy them at walmart too. They are black and have flip lids on them that say 12v.

you can get a outlet at an auto store and wire it in.
