I was just wondering how many of you are taking a kid hunting on the youth deer or waterfowl hunt? I am taking a friend who is thirteen on the youth waterfowl hunt. I love hunting and I get excited about season opening; but, it never ceases to amaze me at the enthusiasm of a kid who loves to hunt. It is something different about someone at that age. It always seems to take me back in time.

Every day is youth day with us. Me & chance got 3 young en's between us (and hes got another thats a professional bird boy but could care less bout duckin), ate up with it. Of course we got 5 labs between us too! hehe.
Had a hunt 2 years ago we took 14 year old quads hunting. That was cool. Same year we took a nun hunting with us. The nun didn't shoot, she just watched and grinned, and listened, and acted real intrested in all the duck talk. Too bad she was a nun, cause i know a bunch of single duck hunters that'd be all over a well behaved in a duck blind red head! travis

Judge, I'm just guessing at this but: you have white hair, a white beard, wear a red union suit, have eight little friends with four legs and antlers, own a big ole sled, and cant't be found on Christmas eve.

had to work last night so i couldnt go this morning. got up 'bout 1pm. my son is 16 so i took my oldest nephew who is still legal. walked him to the tree and bout the time he took the first step up the ladder two does jumped up out from the stand, ran out about 30 yards and stopped. he racked a round and 'boom', meat on the ground. wasnt in the woods fifteen minutes and never made it up the tree. he looks at me and says, 'that was easy'! i just shook my head and laughed. that was his second deer. he killed a nice six pointer last year on this day. aint it great.

How bout this for a youth hunt. Yesterday evening 2 bucks came out in the food plot and started fighting. The guy with young Cody told him to wait and not to shoot b/c they were too small and maybe big boy might come out. What do ya know they spotted a deer trotting down one of the roads coming to the food plot. He was shaking his head back and forth when he got into the the food plot and it was old big boy. Young Cody missed him about 100 yards.

My cousin works for a farming outfit here in mississippi. (wont say where though) He has been watching a large deer behind his house all late summer and fall in the food plot he made. well, everyone that works for this outfit can hunt on any of the land that they want to provided noone has spoken for it. Anyway, a 12 or 13 year old boy took his 1st deer this morning behind my cousins house. it was a 10 point about 17" inside spread and approx 6" bases. Needless to say my cousin's deer is no longer with us. I'll bet that boy is tickled pink though so thats probably for the best.
