Catch anything? Never been myself but I hear Wolf Lake is a great lake to fish (bass) this time of year.

Wolf is a fun place to fish. Fish anywhere just start throwing around cypress trees and you will catch them. Spinnerbaits and soft plastics are good. Hear the water is about 2ft low right now.

I would never have believed it if I hadn't been there myself and seen it.

A buddy of mine and I were at Wolf Lake one afternoon. I think he had caught maybe 2 bass and I hadn't caught anything.

Against the bank, behind a bush. He casted and caught a bass. Threw right back into the SAME spot and caught another.

He told me to troll back by it and see if there was another. I told him he had already caught the fish out from back there.
Turned out I was very wrong.

Out of ONE spot, about as big around as the top of a 5 gallon bucket, EVERY time the lure went in that spot we caught a fish. In that same idential 10 inch round spot, we caught 14 bass and 2 crappie if I remember correctly. It was the strangest thing I've ever seen. Nowhere around it would they bite. But in that one spot, it was like someone was down there putting them on the hook. We fished this spot in the last 15 minutes of daylight and caught fish after fish the entire time.

The next several times we went, our magic hole was worth about 2 bass and nothing else.

Too bad the limit at Wolf is 2 on bass because we could have had a nice fish fry off that.
