skin condition

About a week ago I noticed what I thought was a hot spot on my dogs side. After a few baths in medicated shampoo it wasn't any better. I took him to the vet and he said it was not hot spots, not the mange (thank god) but a skin bacteria. He gave me more medicated shampoo and some antibiotics. Well we haven't gotten any better and the shedding is terrible. I mean my dogs coat looks terrible. Have any of you ever experienced anything like this, if so what did you do to correct the problem.

I have a two year old female with the same condition. This is the second go round. She had in April and spent over a month on antibiotics and medicated shampoo. Came back in July while at the trainer. Back on antiboitics and medicated shampoo. Using a sulfur/lime dip this time and it seems to have done some good. My vet is call it a yeast infection on the skin. A stroid shot helped the scratching. I am still looking for answer on how she got it and how to avoid in the future. Good luck.

My in-house expert says to post a picture.

Or go see Dr. Brown, the veterinarian dermatologist at MedVet in Memphis.

Had a dog that had the same condition. Talked to a friend of mine that was a Vet, told me he would save some money “go to Wal-Mart and by an off brand tube of Monestat and apply it to the area”. It cleared it up in about 2 days (The condition is caused by yeast infection)

mix 4 ounces of hibiclense and 4 ounces of dawn dish soap in a gallon of water. Wash every other day for 3 days. Allow to soak for 5 minutes and tripple rinse.

This will cure most skin conditions.

Let me know if it works.
