My First Band

Postby nomsduckhunter » Tue Dec 16, 2003 8:01 pm

I hunted before work this morning and had woodies all over me. I did get my limit and when I picked them up the hen was double banded. It had a 100 dollar reward band... :D I also saw quite a few mallards but only manage to call one drake into shooting range.

way to go! congratulations...
Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

Congratulations
Getting a banded duck is kinda like winning the lottery, and it being dbl band make it that much sweeter. I have several bands but still rember the first one! I have a band that my Grandfather got when I was nine years old, I was with him when he got it on the Ill. river near Pekin. I still see the smile on his face whenever I look at it. I am sure that you will always rember that hunt with a smile.

I've hunted since 1982 and this is my first and the first I have ever heard of coming out of this area. I don't know why the pic won't show.
