Hey all,
I bought a Wal-Mart 390 last year, like the gun, but am having trouble with putting a sling on it.. on my old guns I just drilled a hole in the cap (not sure what the official name is, but I mean the cap that screws on and holds it all together) but the cap on the 390 is different and drilling won't work, I've seen a couple of people with a manufactured thing-basically like a washer that goes under the cap and they attached the sling to it, and I've seen caps you can buy for other models that have a place to attach a sling, but can't find one locally for a 390.. any help would be appreciated..

The washer end cap with the slot for the sling, should have come with the gun. If it didn't, I'm sure any Beretta dealer would be helpful in getting one. I doubt if Wally world would have a clue unless they had another one in stock where you could show them what you needed.

Hey Anat. Been hard at it all year. Gotta keep clothes on the kids before I go duck hunting. Done for the year working now though, look out ducks till the end of the season. Just now getting started looking and it might be just a tad better than last year. How's your season been so far??

Well....let's put it this way........if we hadn't gone to Canada in October, Anne and I would be ready to CHOKE each other, right now. We've only decoyed about a dozen mallards so far, down here. 'Had a good teal season and killed a few resident honkers, though.

Right now.......I picked a good time to get the 'Upper Respiratory Crud'........'might as well be layed-up as long as there aren't any ducks around here.

It'll get better........good to hear from you, again.

hey browndog, that washer-looking plate for the cap is the beretta made attachment for a sling. the wally guns dont come with it just like they dont come with the drop shims, or at least mine didnt. just the basic gun. uncle mike's makes a sling kit for the 390. it requires drilling the cap and works fine or you can order the plate from berreta.http://www.uncle-mikes.com/adtemplate.asp?invky=9004440&catky=1279575&subcatky1=4548842&subcatky2=2000190 i've got the mike's kit and dont have any problems with it. a buddy of mine with a 390 said the oem piece appeared cheap.

MSB is correct. Some gun shops carry the stamped metal washer-like piece that fits under the magazine cap, but they can be hard to find. Beretta can get them to you in about 7 days if you order online. You can get the screws to attach the swivel on the stock at Bass Pro Shop or most gun shops.

I've got an Extrema and had problems with a sling. I had the stamped metal piece that goes under the cap so what I did was cut my 870 sling in half. I used the velcro end (the one that goes around the stock) and "rigged" it to a deer rifle sling I found that would go throught the stamped metal piece. I ended up with this bastardized composite sling and not having to tap the stock. It works well but hasnt improved my aim.
