Does anyone know the deal with the new regulations in Malmaison and the Scatters? I heard that you can't leave the boat ramp area until 5:00 AM. - WERD

don't even try it I saw around 15 trucks get tickets this weekend. Not a lot of water in there anyways. They will ticket you if you look wrong at them.. Don't get there early and put your boat in, because they see this as a unfair advantage. Again they are giving tickets out right and left. You need to be straight as an arrow. Life Jackets, fire extunguisher, decals, numbers, registration, day permits FILLED OUT, and on you. This doesn't include the obvious. Oh yeah they are in the water all day in Pirouge and they will paddle up on you if you shot some ones swing bird and write you a ticket. Don't try to out call any one and you better have that wild ass dog under control.
I didn't get a ticket by the way or any one in my party.
Good luck and I'll see you out there.

AND I STAND CORRECTED>>>>>boat CANNOT be in the water til 5 am! so, at 4:55, right before the fighting begins, there ought to be some pretty good viewing!

ALL REGULATIONS TO THESE FACTS ARE POSTED ON THE BOARDS AT THE PERMIT USE STATION, IF YOU LOOK. THEY WILL ALSO REALLY CHECK YOUR BOATS FOR THE LIMITS TO MAKE SURE NOTHING IS HIDDEN. GOOD LUCK

Yeah and the guys who hunt on the private section just west of Leflore county can put in before 5 and swing over to the state side before anyone else gets to put their boat in the water.

If the boat ramp is state property, how can you put in before 5:00 to sit on the private property?

Surf Dog I believe that fellow will be ticketed as will any one else that is in the hunting grounds, again I could be wrong but it has nothing to do with the ramp guys You just can't be in the hunting grounds. So therefore I think you can put your boat in and line up in the water but not leave that area untill 5:00. This way you don't have everyone waiting on one backwoods ignoramus that can't back a trailer in. I will call the GW and make sure that we can put are boats in and line up along the banks. If I have to wait untill light to put my boat in its not worth it. Back the time up untill 4:00.
Just my two cents.

Same thing I got also. Sorry guys, hell I could be that backwoods ignoramos trying to get down that ramp yall are all yelling at. Good luck any ways and try to speak with some of us out there at the ramp, maybe we can get a petition started to at least get it a little earlier.
Good hunting

but what would stop you from unloading your boat off the trailor and keeping it on the bank ready to be pushed into the water @ 5.?.....prolly 1000lbs worth of boat, and gear..lol next question would be, if you're using waders, how soon could you walk in?

At the risk of getting my @$$ chewed, are there any "wade in" areas at malmason?
