Looking for a Lab Puppy

Guys,
A good friend of mine lost his one year old chocolate lab this weekend. Horrible thing happened, he was cruising timber and it got into some kind of chemical. Anyway, she was a great dog and he had spent a lot of time working her. His wife is pretty upset as well. He asked that I post and see if anyone new where he might good get a good puppy. What is he looking for??? Age wise, level of the dogs trainig etc. I know of a 1yr old blf, that if someone was wanting a hunting dog/companion, this would fit. she has OB and some of her basics done, A very good deal could be made, just depending what he sees his future in doing with her. Very sweet lil dog.
