What do you do?

Been seeing a big gobbler's tracks by the gate where I've been hunting a few times this year. He never gobbles and only pops out when I leave. My friend was hunting down the road and saw him at 8:00 standing in the road 30 min after I left. If I don't park at the gate someone else will and mess up my chances of seeing him. There are thickets on both sides of the road where he goes in. What would YOU do?

Sit where you see the tracks til about 9 or 10 at least and just call every once in a while, about once every 30 minutes. Should die pretty quick like.

Let me make myself clear for you funny guys. I don't normally leave an area at 7:30, but we all like to hunt them 'vocal' turkeys. What I'm saying is that he don't show until the truck is gone from the gate because I think he roosts across the road and I have seen his tracks AT the gate. This is public land and I have to claim that gate to hunt this area. I may just have to take a chance and park down the road to kill this booger.

I told my buddy he should do this with me. It's a good plan for this old bird.

I like that scheme but do you think he will still cross the road and gate with my truck sitting there? I feel a little doubtful about it but I don't know how else to keep someone from driving up.

NO, he won't. Park 1/4 mile down the road, and get a 'POSTED-TRESSPASSER WILL BE SHOT' sign. Walmart--.99 cents
