Unless you just want to piss away money, eat at Doc's. Great lunches and cheap. Been going to OB for over forty years and you just can't beat Doc 's.

The Tin Top in Bon Secour. The best meal you will get down there, period.
Try Desoto's, that is one of my favorite lunch places.

Make the drive over to Point Clear to The Old Bay Steamer. Assuming it is still there it is well worth the drive.

Geno's Fresh Catch
It is in the old Zeke's restaurant location, off the beach road on the bay.

Louisiana Laniappe (fancy for the wife)
Bay Side Grill
Zekes
Go to the Warf and try Guy Harvey's Island Bar and Grill.
Tacky Jacks for breakfast, have you one of their patent bloody mary's or screwdrivers while you wait for a table.
For lunch Tacky Jacks
Desoto's in Gulf Shores is great, lunch is the best time prices are real good and the food is great. I think they have the best royal reds down there.
Pirates cove hamburgers It is a bar and you have to remember that but during the day there are always kids running around out on the sand. Neat place.
Wolf Bay Lodge, the best fried seafood down there, the whole flounder is great, get there early though. The place is always full of locals if that will tell you anything. They are closed on Mondays
The new place we liked is the Tin Top Rest in Bon Secour. Go North on 59 and take a left on state hwy 10. It makes a few left hand turns back thru Magnolia Springs and Mobile Bay. Local out of way place that was excellent!!
Doc's but make sure it's the old one on Canal Rd. Get a spider burger and a bowl of gumbo
King Neptunes is a hole in the wall but it is the bomb

Tin top is a little off the road but easy to find, just follow the signs to Billy's seafood off of hwy 59. Tin top is before you get to Billy's, which by the way is probably the best place to buy seafood down there.
Try the sauteed crab claws.

Re: where to eat in gulf shores/ orange beach?
will probably sound silly to go to the coast and eat Italian food, but we really like Franco's
great food and service
also enjoy Lagniappe as well although I think the original in Destin is better
Pirates Cove was worth the food and experience
Bad experience at Tacky Jacks food not that great either
the doc

I'm a fat kid, and I endorse Wolf Bay Lodge....its in the sticks, and has a nice 1970's country club/Lake Tiakota feel....but it is some serious grubb.

I'm not a guy harvey's at the Wharf fan...and Tacky jacks isn't known for their groceries...they're known for their bush whackers...
Tin Top is off county road 10(west) it is good...Wolfbay lodge is good...man there is soo many restaraunts down there, You can just about eat anywhere and get a shrimp Po' Boy and it'll be pretty good.
If you are looking for a serious restaraunt to take the wife to hit The Cobalt next to the Caribe by the bridge going over just past the Flor-a-Bama...Fried seafood = Doc's

Lu Lu's for burgers and beer. Sea N Suds if you want seafood, especially oysters. Stay away from Bubba Gumps
and the Old Bay Steamer in Pointe Clear is good as stated above, but be ready to drop a decent amount of coin
