This post is concerning the meaning of proof of electronic purchase of a state duck stamp.
I was checked by one of the Washington County Game Warderns, Friday morning. I have a Sporstman's License with the WF printed on the front that shows I purchased an electronic waterfowl stamp when I purchased my licenses. The Warden wanted to see proof of the purchase. I just so happened to have the paper copy that I recieved when I purchased my license. I thought the Sporstman's card would be sufficient. I do not know if he would have issued a ticket or not, but I am concerned if I have interpretted the new laws incorrectly. Do we all need to keep the paper copy of our Sportsman's license to prove we purchased the state stamp? The Warden mentioned that they had had issues with hunters trying to make fake copies of the Sportsman's license or to print "WF" on the card. Can anyone clarify what we all need to carry?
