Bella girl finally got an idea of what all these training sessions were about on opening day. Boy what a sight it was. 1 hooded maganzer lit into the decoys like a scalded dog and BOOM...... BACK!!! SPLASH...... that image is engraved into my mind forever... The look in her eyes as she waited for for my command. the anticipation, the "want" to retrieve, the focus... it was all there.. That was the only type of waterfowl we killed that day but ole girl couldn't wait for the next.....
Its been a great year for us. I've learned a lot, ALOT i say about patience and repetition and practice.. my goal for her this year is to get her started title. She is probably ready, but i'd like to step to the line and know she's ready. I must say that training has been pretty sparse over the past month or so. Between the great freeze and a lot of hunting, we have slacked off. But we are getting back into shape.. I snapped some pictures over the year ad a few of the training today.
I hope to meet some of you boys at the southern flight deal in Feb..
Opening Morning. Sitting in the boat waiting for first light..
