baiting survey

Yeah, I got that survey at the start of the year. By the way, I oppose baiting. To me, that isn't hunting.....that is just putting feed out and waiting for the animal to come to it. That is just my thoughts about it.

" that isn't hunting.....that is just putting feed out and waiting for the animal to come to it."

How is this any different than hunting over a food plot?

i voted no, the deer in my back yard are fat and easy to kill without yellow acorns. went to texas to hunt in 1988, with out baiting there the deer would starve to death. killed two buck's the first morning, it wasnt a lot of fun. like killing dog's off the back porch. no fun,and a long drive

Well, there is not much difference in the fact that deer are attracted to both. However, when you put corn and other feed out, it has the potential to rot and spread disease to the animals.

Corn has no value as far as high protein etc for antler growth, or anything else. Corn to deer is like a jolly rancher to a fat boy.

Duckaholic is exactly right. Food plots at least provide animals with the proper nutrition needed for growth and survival.

I am against baitng, so don't take this question the wrong way. If corn isn't good for deer then how come the deer get so big in Illinois? It aint from the acorns? It seems to me that corn must be good somewhat for deer, but I could be wrong.
