Currently needing a new one. looking at the 500 forman S. My 300 is getting smallar and smaller and I'm getting bigger and bigger LOL. I have called Lakehill, Greenville Motor Sports, and Brookhaven. Right now, brookhaven has them all beat on pricing.

For those that have the 500 how does it compare to the 420, and have ya'll had any problems with it?

I did all the research, test drives, etc about 1 1/2 years ago between the two...I now have a foreman 500 4x4. Wouldn't trade it for anything! Best I can remember the Foreman has a bigger body, bigger racks, bigger machine, 1 extra light, bigger seat, etc....It has a little more power, and i think can hold a little more weight and little bigger towing capacity...Dont quote me on any of that though.

A buddy of mine went the other way and bought the 420, and we hunted together this weekend and he is trying to sell his 420 to buy a Foreman.

A lot depends also on what your main uses will be though....

I use mine 75% of the time for hunting, working at camp, property, house, etc...25% of the time just playing and trail riding.

If you are going to do more trail riding and playing on it, then you would probably like the 420 more. Its probably quicker, more agile and a better trail bike

Got a 500 and a 350. The 500 is definitely a work horse! It's all around an awesome machine. But that dadgum 350 is bullet proof! And PLENTY stout. I prefer it over the 500 any day because it is big enough but still small and light enough to get in and out of some pretty tight spots.

I bought a new 2009 Foreman S (Camo) a few months ago. I paid $5,300 at Powerhouse Honda in Olive Branch. I looked at pricing at Lake Hill, Abernathy's, etc. and all three were priced within a $100 or so dollars of each other. If thats the case in your situation support your local dealer and don't worry about nickel and diming over a few bucks because you may need your local guy for service down the road.

i know Great River in Natchez will usually match Brookhaven and its a closer drive right down 61 for ya. ive seen recently where you can get the 500 for basically the same price. have two ranchers on the farm and they are great bikes. the only difference i can tell is weight of the machines, the power seems to be so close i cant tell. best bikes ive ever been on.

420 is a solid bike, and you can stil physically pick it up out of a bad situation if you know what I mean

Bought one in 06 500 Foreman S got 26 inch tires on it and it does fine, I like solid rear axles. It is a solid built machine to hold up to what I put it through, only problem after 4700 miles is I have a front wheel bearing going out.

The fourman is the way to go for the work horse route. Independent suspension bikes have weaker axles and when they have an extra weight their faimed ground clearance disappears and puts the tires at wayyy too positive of a camber and your riding on the edge of your tires grips instead of the the center

But Independent suspension bikes make fun mud bikes

And Brookhaven Honda is the only place to buy from Linda Covington and her family run a top notch facility wayyy better than the booty holes at north jackson honda... Glad they went out of business
