After blankin' last weekend, what do ya'll think will have changed overall since last weekend in the way of any kind of push of new birds?
Goin' to the camp anyway and it can't get much worse....

Heck of a cold North wind kicked up here this afternoon, hopefully we will see some ducks with it.
Central IL on both the IL and MS river have been poor at best, between the flood levels and lack of ducks this is the worst duck season we have ever had so far.
Buddy in WI says they haven't seen a push yet, hoping Friday might be the day. We will start freezing here with the current forecast in a few days but than it looks to warm back up early next week.
Not what you guys want to hear but that is the central IL report as of today.

we hunt in Isola and I went today looking to see how much water we got from the rain, and I tell you, I didnt see a damn duck......saw 5.324 million snow geese, but no ducks....even the catfish ponds were sparse.......looking at the freezes up north, the 9-16 is when we should see a push for ducks....
hope this gives some insight

Went to some private land this morning. Only a few birds flying...didn't kill $#!+. Only had 1 greenhead take a look...other birds we saw were on a mission. A few small groups of migrating ducks and geese.
We'll try it again Sunday.

+1 You're right it can't. Saw about 12 woodies, 6 teal, and 2 gadwalls last Friday morning. Killed a few of them. I think this weekend should be a little better.

Friday night a whole bunch of new ducks arrived. We cut through the timber Sat afternoon coming in and as we came out Mallards just kept coming out we were getting wet from the water off them. When he hit the big water there were mallards as far as the eye could see, no kidding never seen anything like it.
We saw a boat parked near them and it was the warden with the feds, they estimated 30-40K birds.
It was something I have never seen, definitely a picture out of a book. One of these days I'll remember I got a camera on this blackberry.
We are supposed to get big storms Tuesday night and Wed. maybe 8 inches on Wed afternoon I'm leaving in an hour to get ready to chase them won't be back till Thursday.
I'll keep you posted.
