If you can find one of the old refrigerators with the ceramic lined interior I can show you how to build an amazing one real easy.

How do you build that smoker out of that fridge. I got 2 of them old ones that you are talking about.

The two we've built...we built a stand that picks it up off the ground and puts bigger heavy duty wheels on it. We also had a hole drilled in the top and a fitting with threads welded into it. That's a way to adjust the amount of smoke it lets out, and also provides a way to put a thermometer in it. Then, it's just a matter of putting on heavy duty hinges......and we got old firehose and used as the seal around the door. We had two brackets welded on the main part and the door with threads in brackets on the main part, which allows for you to turn bolt like fasteners to tighten the door closed. There's 3 or 4 racks in it and a tray that slides in the bottom. We put marinade in a coffee can in the bottom tray and the charcoal.....charwood......wood.....etc around it. If you have one with a flat ceiling it allows the marinade condensate to drip back down on the meat. It'll stay at temperature for a long time. You can put it on at night and wake up the next morning and it still be at the temp you set it at.

Lowes carries a good one. Just clean the metal very good with wire brush on drill, wipe down with acetone, light a fire in the grill to heat the metal, let the charcoal burn out and when its safe to lay a hand on the grill paint it. Put a couple coats and it will stick good.

Do what you want, but I wouldn't recomend painting any surface above where your meat will be. If it is for a smoker, you may be ok, but if it gets over 400 degrees, I WOULD NOT use the spray paint!!!! I know, it says 1200 degrees, but that is BS.... Personally, I would season it like a skillit....smear a liberal amount of cooking oil on all the surfaces....don't let it drip on an open flame, and crank up the heat for 30-45 minutes.... Should be G2G

I didn't plan on painting the inside, at least not above the meat racks.
