Place to stay in Venice, LA

Postby @work » Wed Sep 09, 2009 11:15 am

Heading to Venice in mid/late October for some fishing. Can anyone recommend a good place to stay...something that will sleep 3 and has a kitchenette and safe place to park a boat?

Thanks

Venice Marina has cabins (trailers) that have plenty of room . http://www.venicemarina.com/

We rented a house boat about 3 weeks ago, it spept 4 and was cheap. Puts you on the water and has you set up to cook, clean your fish and get dropped off by the guide without having to go to the main marina. I would look into it.

Try out Mexican Gulf Fishing Company,http://www.mgfishing.com/their lodge is the plush barge Beau Rivage used to have at the Chandeleur islands. Alex from this site is the manager....phone #228-342-0120, Im thinking its a little more than the others but from what I here its well worth it!!!
Also, you could try Raymond and Mike Schidmts http://rodnreel.com/saltgrassoutdoors/ Salt Grass. Great people as well!!!

We have also stayed at Cypress Cove, no kitchen ,but you can grill out below. or the trailer cabins at Venice Marina, which would be my choice on a budget..sleeps 6 or 7 no problem...

Do a search on this, it's been covered ad nauseum over the years.

How long has Raymond had this place? He didn't mention it last year when I went out with him...

I think the lodge is just recently. I seen some pictures of it on LA Sportsman and man is it amazing.

Raymond, his brother Mike and Mike's son all went in on it and it opened for buisness in June. Trust me when I say there is no place near as nice as it anywhere in Plaquimens parish, including the Southern comfort plantation.
