We will be going down to the beach tomorrow for a few days of relaxing. I do not plan on doing much other than beer poolside and beer beachside. What else would any of you recommend doing? What about eating out? Where? Thanks guys, this is a much needed break from the real world.

We were there last weekend and ate at a seafood place called Doc's and I thought it was real good. Another night we went to a place called Cobalt....dont go there....it was a nice restaurant but we waited well over 2 hours to be seated and then took over an hour to get our food

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT go to Lulu's unless you like a terribly long wait for food that's no better than red lobster.
Doc's is good, Papa Rocco's is good, Cosmos is good and despite what the previous poster said, Cobalt is good. He's correct the wait is usually really long, but it is good.

Lulu's is a resort in its self... the wait is bad.... but there is alot to do while you wait

Sea-N-Suds Restaurant on the beach in Gulf Shores. If you are not early, you'll have a wait, but sit at the bar, and eat some GREAT oysters. Never had a bad one there.

A friend of mine owns a restaurant called Fatbacks at Sportsman's Marina. We were down there two weeks ago and the food was outstanding. Saturday night we ate at Louisiana Lagniappe which is always a fine choice. Docs is a great place for some fried seafood or oysters. Get a burger from the Keg.

O'Choppers Irish Pub in Orange Beach. It is pretty close to The Wharf. Great food and great beer in an Irish pub setting of course.

Original Oyster House all the way. Get there by 4:30 for dinner or you will wait for a while.

If you want to skip the resturant wait, there are several seafood shops that sell raw shrimp, fish, etc.. We ended up buying some shrimp at one place as your passing walgreens on the right headed toward the beach. It was the one across the bridge for about 8.00 lb for some midsize shrimp. They cooked them for us for free and they have steaks and pretty much all the seasonings you need if you wanted to cook yourself. It took about 10 min all together and was pretty good. I also got some mahi mahi, and some yellow fin there as well to cook on the grill the next night.

If your with a female companion and want a good relaxing meal go to Cosmos. Great food. THe crab claw appitizers are awsome. They are the blue crab so the claws are small but dang they are tasty... Beer is cold too.
