Mosquito repellants

I'm going to be giving these new OFF brand clip ons a shot this bow season. They are supposedly more effective than the thermacells and cheaper to maintain with refill disks.
Just got to get one and see how loud they are. These use a little fan to pull air through a odor free repellent disk and then push it out the bottom...
I was just curious if anyone else has tried em...

I used a Thermacell last year but still got tagged a good bit. One of my main bow stands is on a trail right next to a bottom that holds water. Mosquitos were swarming all over last weekend and hitting me left and right with the Thermacell on. I figured after that it may be worth a shot to seek out other means. I'm going back this weekend to check the trail cams on some corn, and will be wearing this OFF clip on. I'm really just curious to see if the results are any better.

Its not going to work if you are moving around, same as a thermacell. You need to be sitting still to get a residual in the area. And I totally agree with everyone else on the thermacell. If you are doing it for a cheaper means of keeping off skeeters is one thing, but I tell you if you got skeeters bad ass enough to withstand a thermacell......find another place to hunt!

+1 on the Shannon Bug Tamer and the Thermacell, I also use the Rhinoskin for chiggars and ticks, put the three together and you got a cool, bug free hunt.

I'll drink a big glass of my own urine three consecutive days before a hunt and the skeeters don't bother me a bit. That third day is important, two just won't cut it. I got eat up one day after forgetting to partake on day 3.

Like above, the most important thing about a thermacell is that you can't be moving around.....and you have to make sure the tab you put in is blue and not completely white. All of these mosquito repellants work like the misting systems. You are training mosquitos to stay out of these areas....if you're moving around obviously you aren't giving the chemicals time to work. If it's windy just put it upwind from you.....the mosquitos are going to stay out of the mist/smoke/aroma.
