If southern cant beat Memphis I really doubt State or Ole Miss is really scared to play southern.

After Southern beat Memphis for 7 years straight, maybe it was time for Memphis to win. Granted, it is supposed to be a walk thru, but since when has State or Ole Miss beat a sop 7 years straight???

Okay guys, here we go! I'm a die hard USM fan, graduated from there and will always love them. As far as the "routing", if I recall, UAB kicked the @$#% out of LSU last year. State always has to fight to beat Memphis and Ole Miss struggles with Tulane. We have been trying to get both UM and MSU to play us, but they always whine and say no for any number of excuses. Even if Southern lost at least we could say we were willing to play. Maybe State will be able to beat Vandy! By the way, what is Troy State ranked? [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

Bluwtr, there is only one good reason State and Ole Miss don't play Southern...they have nothing to gain and lots to lose, just like playing someone like Troy State, even though that makes more sense than playing USM! If they win, they were supposed to! But, if they lose or even if it's a close game,like with Memphis and now with Troy, look what they open themselves up to. The difference is, if they lost to USM, that impacts recruiting in half the state. Not many boys will go to Troy instead of State because they won this year. But, it could have a huge impact on recruiting in south MS if USM won! It's purely a matter of turf guarding, not whether USM is worthy...they are! It's a multi-million dollar business, man.
