Time on the Forum

Can I ask why the time next to the date at the top right hand shows 6 hours fast? Right now it says it is currently 31 July 2009 22:10 (10:10 pm) and it's actually 4:10 pm. What is up with that? Shoot me if I don't know the story, just curious.

OK. Appreciate the heads up. I changed it to Central time, but it was an hour behind. Changed it to Eastern time and it's right on. Weird, but I got it now. Thanks.

You were on GMT. Time standard in Grennwich, England! we are +6 which means add 6 hours to the Lmt(Local Mean Time) to get GMT. We use that as a basis for celestrial sights in Ocean navigation as the almanacs and tables are based on GMT.
