The Goose

Postby missed mallards » Tue Jul 14, 2009 3:04 am

This was my grandfather's first goose to date. It was also the first time I had the privale to invite my grandfather on a hunt. I hope to never forget that hunt, as it came together perfectly. I've shared the story a few times on here and don't wish to waste your time on it. The goose was 13 years old, shot in the delta, and was a joint effort by both me and my grandfather.

On the left, is the certificate. On the right, is "The Story". Funny, I wrote that at age 14.

On a side note: anyone that has ever been to our lake house has been graced with the story. My grandmother had her bridge party up there some while back, and she informed me he shared every detail with the ladies  . Most family and freinds will spend the first few minutes listening to the story, as it's one of my grandfathers prized possessions.

How old are you now? It sounds to me like this story is running low on milege  . Maybe you and your Grand Pappy need to go out and get some new stories  .

Just pulling your leg young man :D . Thats a cool story.... But :| that only lasts for a little while. You and your loved ones should live your life to the ever-loving last minute! My Grand Dads have been gone a long time, thank God my father is still here. Cherish those unreplacable moments with your family, make as many of those memories as you possibly can while there is time to do them, and spend your old age with grandchildren on your knee's reliving the glory days of your past.

It's the circle of life.

Thanks for sharing your story. Good Luck and Good health to you all!
