I pretty sure it has no control on ticks, but it will kill the fleas on your dog and run the rest of the fleas out of your yard. That's the experience I've had with it.

Vet gave it to me for my dog, but when I got home I researched further. Glad I did, cause one of my boys had a seizure before, the small print said not to give it dog with any seizure history. You might do a search online to find out more. I gave up on the poisons and just put beneficial nemotodes in the yard.

Actually, I had mentioned it, but there are 2 vets there, and the one I saw that day probably didn't remember. When I went back in and told them I wanted to return the comfortis, kind of acted surprised that the comfortis wasn't for some dogs??.....

How are the beneficial nematodes working out? Can you see a difference? Do they work on ticks also? Where did you purchase? How did you know what variety to best treat your yard?

There are working great! I wish I had known about it yrs ago. I see a flea or tick on occasion, but not often. I told the vet and he smiled and said yeah. I bought them from arbico (I think that's the name) it's online. They have a mix of 2 different kinds that work in south, on ticks fleas and other insects. They say they work for 2 yrs, but I will probably do again next spring cause I didn't cover the whole 1 ac.

Cost me more than it should have, first I ordered some from Garden's Alive. All they did was help the flea problem that was about 80 bucks and I only covered the upper 1/2 of the ac. Then I found the mix at the other supplier, and ordered another $80 and went over about 1/2 ac again. Under the pines and where the dogs spend most of their time. I did put some in the garden to help with the grub problem. I would have been a lot better off buying from Arbico Organics to start with and just ordered enough to cover the whole ac. I think I got a better deal, cause BF from them took care of several different kinds of bugs and $100+ could have covered it. That sounds like a lot of money till you consider how much Frontline and other products cost year after year. And next year I will put them out again. It recommends every 2 yrs or so. But the south has much more bug problem than the rest of the country.
