Southern Flight HRC will be hosting a Blind Running Seminar on the 27th of June.

Location is Belinda Dwyer's house (aka Charles Dwyer). Hwy 4 east of Senatobia.

Time: seminar will start at 9:00 am.

Presenters will be Charles Dwyer, Troy Williams, and Travis Bruce.

Every thing will be covered from the basic blinds to the advanced.
Also you will get the chance to listen to how a judge looks at a blind.
Any and every blind questions will be addressed.
Dogs are welcome and we will be running blinds to get the full understanding.

The seminar will be free to SF members with a nominal fee for lunch (pass the hat).

Cost will be $35 for non members (which will include a SF membership and lunch) .

Belinda's address will be posted soon.

Any questions please pm me for more details.

Thanks
Chris

UPDATE

here is the address: 26298 Hwy 4 East

here are some directions via Charles D. Himself. he can explain it better than me.....

"Driveway is directly across from an old Cotton Gin. If you put my address in a GPS it comes up short of our actual location. I will park my red F-150 in the Cotton Gin's parking lot, it has a 4 hole topper on it. We can also put a SoutherFlight banner up as well. Driveway will be directly across the road from where the truck will be parked."

"Hwy 4 is closed for a bridge repair, hopefully it will be finished before the seminar. If not you would take a left on hwy 305 (which is right at the bridge that is being repaired) go about 3/4 of a mile and turn right on Dandridge. this will be the first road on the right after turning onto 305. Dandridge is a short road that dumps you back onto Hwy 4 about a mile and half further down."

Any questions call. 901-833-5925

I think we have got this seminar dealio headed in a direction that its purpose what not intended. I know it was all in fun but for the newcomer maybe not a welcomed idea. The blind seminar will be just that...a seminar where hopefully all that attend will be a better handler afterwards with instruction from 3 experienced trainers/handlers that have been there and done that.

I think that is important to note that All this WILL be done in an atmosphere that is conducive to all .....male or female young and old!!!!! After the seminar will be some hotdogs and there might be a fish or 8 caught by the kids and quite possibly a few cold one consumed by the adults. Just trying to put things in perspective for possilbe newbies that arent used to the usual SF crew!!!!

I can't wait...this will hopefully be perfect timing for me and ol' gusto...not only that but the last few "seminar" days SF has had were awesome...I learned a ton and the time "on the line" in that environment helped as well.........look forward to it...

what time will it be over and what do we need to bring? what if it rains you know I'll melt...are we going to be able to still have the seminar?

rain or sun... bring some easy ups. If it rains, it wont be for long. The sun is more likely to drive us into belinda's garage than the rain. There's going to lots of talking, lots of dogs, lots of drawing on tony's dry erase board.

Tony is spot on. While we're cutting up on here, ANY and every event we have is going to be family friendly (sans an overnight stay in the campers when they're cooking). Plans are for a social late that afternoon and evening, for the non intrested in blind spouses and kids to come.

this seminar is going to be about blinds. its not going to be all incluisve to anything dog training related... its going to be about blinds. chris is working hard to develop a ciricumlum, and we'll have quite a bit of stuff to deal with, but flexible enough to go where it needs to. But it wont go to the yard or anywhere else... we might have a sidebar and talk if time allows, but the subject of BLINDS is easily big enough to spend a day on. Some partipants might not be to the point of blinds (like greg I spoke with earlier this week...), but simply being in that environment in a learning situation for a day will still be a big benefit I would think.

We talked just a little about having someone in. But we decided, with the expereince in our group we could do this in house, just like we have with our past seminars. I do have a seminar id like to bring someone in for, and we'll talk about that tuesday night at our meeting. travis
