Ok guys, I am needing to buy a new butane grill. Have a decent charcoal grill but don't always have time for that so don't need to hear the charcoal is better arguments. What do you guys reccomend as a good grill and where can I find one at a decent price?

I got both too. Prefer coal, but the convenience of gas has it place when things are busy. Buy one you feel most certain you'll be able to buy replacement parts in future, else go cheap and, hate to say it, disposable. Bought a really good one 8 years ago and have only had to replace the "briquettes" so far, but they've since discontinued the entire line and when the guts go to hell won't be any way to keep it patched up. Friends in SC are in the welding industry and had a stainless, battleship-quality gas grill built to last an entire lifetime (about 15 years old and looked almost new). .

Did a built in two years ago and really looked at something that would last. Settled on this brand because it has cast stainless steel burners and grates. It is a tank. they also make the highest btu built in burner I could find. Pricey but if you cruise the discount sites and ebay y0u can find some closeouts or dent and scratch at good prices. http://www.firemagicgasgrills.com/

My dad got a Char-Boil or Broil commercial version from Lowe's father's day last year. He doesn't like the gas and gave it to me after I built my deck. He's cooked on it once and I cooked on it mostly when we would do steaks at their house. Since I've put it on my deck 3 weeks ago, I've used that thing easy 10-15 times. Used it last night as a matter of fact. I like the quality of it and there's plenty of parts available for it. It was fairly priced too, for my dad when he bought it that is.

I bought a Blue Ember from Lowes, it was right at 450.00 It came with the Rotisiere(sp), side burner, and it has three burners in the grill, but instead of that little flat metal thing that burns out it, had a heavy duty tubes that disperse the heat. I like it and it seems to be a good one. This is my fourth season with it so not to bad. The elcheapo's typically only last 2-3 years.

sorry, got a little caught up... i got the char-broil from Lowes with an infra red burner on it that i use for wood chips - just throw them on it, the glass keeps the ash from falling inside and can be easily cleaned by taking the glass out and brushing the ashes off. I've never used it for cooking on since all my cooking is relatively low and slow and infra red is high and fast, but heats up fast for smoke and I can use that heat for indirect cooking and leave the center and right eyes on low.
don't get the Jennair from Lowes, generally a good product from jennaire, but this grill is made in china specifically for Lowes, and a jennair badge is slapped on it,so the parts aren't readily available anywhere else but Lowes and when they discontiue it there will be none available.

Got a stainless Ducane (not totally sure but I think its the high end of Weber) 3 years ago and have been totally pleased. Has a side burner that is brass and 3 stainless tube style burners below the main cooking grates which are all welded stainless rods. Earlier this year, one of the main burners cracked and I called customer service, got a real actual honest to god human being after a couple of rings and they had 3 brand new stainless burners to my house within the week. Turns out the burners come with a 5 year warranty and rest of the grill except the knobs comes with a lifetime warranty.

Go get, The Holland Grill. Most gas supply places sell them. Don't even fool with anything else.

Step dad had one of these and it was like cooking on a skillet in an oven. There is a solid drip pan that is great for stopping flairups and easy cleaning but its just not grilling if there isn't direct flame to meat contact.

If you want longevity and replacement parts, I would suggest Weber. They will be there for a long time to come. They did acquire certain assets of the Ducane line also.
