Dentist Part 2- Must read

Postby Bigpoppa » Wed May 13, 2009 9:02 am

For those of you have asked and were involved or read my earlier dentist post......

Ok here goes, You get some good advice and bad advice on here. Its kind of hard to judge between the two sometimes. Some people have personal issues with someone else and for all you know the guy on msducks may be the Ass. Anyway, not the case this time. I hate to bash but I am gonna tell it like it happened.
First of all all the ladies in the office were very nice and some were even nicer to look at. (Some) Anyhow, I went because I have a couple of teeth that have issues I have known about for a while. Nothing drastic but want to avoid major issues. I know for 100% fact I have 2 cavities and 1 tooth that is chipped. So anyway, Germany comes in and in about (literally) 30 seconds determines I have gum disease and need my entire grill rebuilt to the tune of about $10,000 out of pocket. He only looked at my mouth 10 seconds and the x rays and pics the other 20 seconds.
Here is the topper, he missed both cavities and the broken tooth. I had to point em out and tell him they were there and they were my concerns that I was there for. D@mmitt boy!!!!
I picked up the ol cell and made an immediate call to Dr. Mayette(sp). The lady on the phone was wonderful as she told me it would be August 3rd before I could get an appointment.
Not my morning. I am going to hope for a cancellation at Mayettes office. Anyway, not fond of Germany. He was concerned with money not me. He was nice for the minute I saw him but bad business.
Anyway to all of you who gave me advice I apreciate it and I hope you understand that since some of you that gave me advice I dont know well or at all I had to learn for myself. Anyway thanks to all for looking out for a fellow msducker. There are a couple of folks I will listen to closer from now on.

Hate that happened to you. It will be worth the wait on Shaun. He will take care of you and be honest about it.

For those in North MS, My dad, Dr. Philley, is a dentist in Grenada and I may be a little partial, but I know from experience and from word of mouth that he is one of the best. For example, he has a laser that cuts through the teeth with no pain, which beats the heck out of having them pulled. He has a great staff, too. Go see him if you want it done right.
