I went through a road block the other night, when asked to leave the vehicle I decided to bolt and...

But seriously, after leaving the road block it got me to thinking...I could only imagine how scary it would have to be to end up in a scary situation with a suspect. I know we got some law enforcement guys on here, lets hear your closest/craziest/ most memorable call while on duty...you don't get to hear of these stories often that you guys gotta put up with.

Had a friend that pulled up to a road block in which he was the 3rd or 4th back car from getting to the cops. He jumped over to his passenger seat and just sat there waiting on the cops to come to him. When they walked back to his truck he told them his driver just jumped out and took off running!!!!! He got a public drunk instead of DUI, good trade out in my book lol!!!

couple of guys that lived near me in college wrecked their car in the ditch nearby our apartments...we saw the blue lights and while slowing down to get past them we noticed it was our friends and the officer working the accident was also a friend

we asked the officer what happened to which he replied I guess nothing, theres a car in the ditch but no ones seems to have been driving it!

our buddies had wrecked and bailed on the car, once the police arrived none of them owned up to having been driving

I went through a road block the other day and they had democrat over on the side giving him a sobriety test. Had him standing on one leg. I thought Hell, there's no way I can do that with my back and I'm stone cold sober.

Several years ago, I was in Memphis working and we were on the way back to our hotel in Germantown from Beale Street. We got pull over because the driver, my boss, dropped his cell phone and as he was going to pick it up, he swerved and almost him a light pole. Once the cop looked at his liscense, he said "Mr -_-_ please step out of the vehicle." My boss looked at him, then looked at the guy in the front seat, then back at the cop and said "You mean out there?" At that point I thought we were in trouble.
So he gets out and walks to the back of the vehicle with the cop to start the sobriety test. The cop asks "Do you have any physical impairments?" and to this my boss replies "I have on new sandals. Does that count?" At that point, I knew we were all going to jail.
Turns out he passes the test and tells the cop that we are lost and we get an escort to our hotel courtesy of the Memphis PD.

Im a "former" cop. Best one Ive ever seen.

About 4 years ago my former partner(a DUI officer) decides to stop a car leaving Pops' Around the Corner for careless driving. The guy immediately yields to the blue lights and before my partner could even get out of the patrol car jumps out of his car and turns up a bottle (1/5) of Wild Turkey. My partner charged him with DUI and careless driving. A check of his drivers license revealed 8 prior convictions for DUI.
About a month later my then partner calls me after he left court to tell me about the outcome of the trial. The arrested suspect represented himself and questioned my then partner and during questioning got my partner to admit to him jumping out of the car and downing the "Wild Turkey" the guy then asked him "So how do you know that I was "drunk" before the actual traffic stop. My partner said he couldnt be 100% sure and the guy asked the judge to dismiss the charge of DUI which he did. The prosecutor lessened the charge to public drunk and the guy changed his plea to no contest and paid a 40 dollar fine for the careless driving and 132 dollar fine for the drunk in public plus court costs. My partner said the judge and the prosecutor were laughing so hard they had to recess court. My former partner was pissed to say the least
