What are some of ya'll best/worst/coolest jobs you've had?
My best job was my 8 month internship at TPC southwind last year in Memphis. Great people and awesome boss. I moved up the ranks and became a manager. Too bad it ended.
My worst job would be when I worked in lawn care. 10-12 hour days of mowing, weed eating, sodding, irrigation. You name it we did it. It was hard work. I learned a lot but it was just too much.
Mt coolest job was working for a company in Cleveland called intime. We did image processing for farmers. Used photographs taking from planes daily and used these images to detect soil quality and other things. It was a cool job.
What do ya'll have?
Jobs I'd like to try. Working with a dog trainer, maybe bartender, professional hunter! Professional rock crawler. That's fun stuff there.

Best and worst all in one was when I was a towel boy at a whore house! When I retire, I will try to get that job back. Might need the Viagra by then!

Best jobs..
My current job, Optometrist I really enjoy it and would have trouble doing anything else.
Bartender at Antoine's, this was one of the neatest jobs I have ever had. I came in contact with more influential people doing this in college than anything I have ever done. Of course what you get to hear at a bar is awesome too.
Duck/Goose guide Black Lake Lodge I ended up with one of the better goose blinds and one year we killed 3,700+ snows, 1,242 specks, and 1,847 ducks. Unfortunatley the place has changed ownership a few times and I can no longer hunt there
Worst jobs...
Duck/Goose guide great way to kill a hobby. Also a great way to become an alcoholic.
Worked at a carwash place in high school in the summer. That aint no fun!

Well Ive only worked one type of job in my 25yrs and it is Turf management/Golf COurse Operations. I will say when I started out and all I did was weedeat and run a mower for 60+hrs a week it wasnt much fun but as I prepare to start my career Im getting into the research side and the actual growing of the turf. Fact of the matter is I really cant see myself doing anything else. I love long hours, being outside, and love playing with irrigation, growing grass, and soils/fertilizers so I think Im in the right position.

Best Job: Bartending. I only bartended at a local reception/event hall, but I bartended the DU banquet EVERY year and got paid to attend. Weddings were pretty fun and we made our most tips then. The banquet type stuff was generally an open bar. IF people don't have to take out their wallet to pay for their drink, they likely won't give you much of a tip. I've thought about going back part time, but I got to much other "part time" stuff I do now. That and I don't remember all the drinks anymore and there's tons of new stuff out now.
Worst Job: Drywall Finishing, sanding a house. You would know when I quit doing drywall (this is when I completed vo-tech and "went" to work full time) they got an electric sander. This was my first "job" and it taught me a trade and still use it today, but sanding a house was a PITA.

The best job I've ever had is the one that I currently have. I love working for NRCS and like every job it has it's positives and negatives. The pay isn't great, but I have good benefits. I get out in the field a good bit, get to meet a lot of interesting people, and see some very unique properties. As long as you don't let all the government beuracracy get to you, it's a pretty stress free and enjoyable job.
The coolest and worst job I ever had was working for a cotton consultant. I loved what I did, but the hours were horrible. At the begining of the season when we were only working 5 days a week I really thought this was going to be a career oportunity. My mind changed quickly when we got into the peek of the season and were working 90-100 hrs, 7 days a week.

Worst job was doing milwrite work in a chicken plant, best job I've ever had was a project manager in the steel erection business.
Coolest job is my current job, welding and fabrication instructor at a community college! Fun toys and college students are fun to deal with! Laid back job and welders are in high demand!

Worst job: The summer I was fifteen I worked in a machine shop cleaning out all the metal shaving and chips out of all the lathes, mills, you name it. The shop was probably 100+ degrees. I was making 5$ an hour and it just wasn't any fun, but it helped build the work ethic that i have today.
The most interesting job would probably have to be the one i have now. I'm in Mang. over the Clerk of Court for the city of Kenner, and the characters that come through on a daily basis are, well lets just say eccentric to say the least. I get to see how the inner workings of a court go, from the defendants all the way up to the judge, and its pretty cool.
Best job: It would have to be either my outside sales man job selling in the oilfield/ or my bartending job in college. Well you know how bartending goes but the sales man gig was cool because i was in an out of shops all day long dealing with guys guys and shooting the chit and selling. Didn't have a boss within a 250 mile radius, and could do what i wanted as long as my numbers were good. I'd still be doing it but the industry was to volitile for me.

your boss there is one of my bosses as well as many others' boss across the state. good man
i'm in gis for agriculture - i learned image processing (IMAGINE) at one time but have long forgotten it with all the new stuff i've had to learn, lately. get to use some very cool mapping equipment/data collectors/mobile computers/software. also, working for the university, i get to try out the educational licensed softwares we have access to. worst, besides running a water furough plow/ditch witch on an open cabbed tractor all summer drought, was at the d&%n bookstore on campus - they kept me in the back organizing and re-re-reorganizing the same d&$n books over and over....for min wage, barely....ah a fresh marriage 'll make ya do lots of stuff to eek by while finishing school....

Worst job - Rodman on a survey crew. This position also involved the use of a kieser blade or a mascette on a regular occassion. (Sorry, but I can't spell 'kieser' or 'mascette' correctly without getting a little ill.) Of course, those two items came in handy while traversing the woods in and around the Ouachita River in August.
Best Job - The one I have now. I work for the Government and a large part of my responsibility is coordinating activities - health fairs, etc. I work with a bunch of different types of people and organizations. It's a lot of fun.
Coolest Job - Working with my Dad in the engineering business. We developed and put on the ground such interesting projects as - residential subdivisions, a tilapia farm, a sugar cane plantation, etc. Got to travel to exotic locations and see where what we did made something.
