Mississippi State and Delta Regional Duck Calling Contests

Just wanted to announce that the Ms. State and Ms. Delta Regional Calling Contests will be held in conjunction with the Delta Wings Waterfowl Festival in Drew, Mississippi on Saturday November 7, 2009. The folks in Drew are working hard to make the Festival an annual event that will be something really special for the outdoors men, women, and children of Mississippi. Winners of each contest will qualify for the World Duck Calling Contest in Stuttgart on November 28, 2009. These will be among the last qualifying contests for the World Contest--with only one more in Easton, Maryland and perhaps one more in Stuttgart. There will also be Junior and Team calling contests that should be loads of fun. Additionally there will be a gumbo cooking contest, rertriever demonstrations, boats, duck-stuff, music, and an assortment of other entertainment. Folks--the bottom line on all this is that it gives all of us opportunities to meet others who share a love for waterfowling, conservation, and the outdoors and to just stright up have a gool ole time on the first Saturday in November.
A special thanks to Larry Simons who has been chairman of these contests for the last several years and co-chairman before that. He did a great job and will continue helping with the committee but turned the chairmanship over to me.
